Join us for this special Dance Workshop taught by the classically trained actor, instructor and choreographer Jennifer J. Hopkins. This special dance workshop will take place on  September 14, 2019, 1 – 3 pm at Bay City Players 1214 Columbus Avenue,

Jennifer J. Hopkins will be teaching Bob Fosse style of dancing. It’s targeted toward high school students and adults. It will be 60 -90 minutes of dance with Q & A afterward.

This is a presentation of Bay City Players, Midland Center for the Arts, and Saginaw Pit & Balcony.

Biography

Jennifer is thrilled to be working with the Michigan arts scene for the first time. After many years working in New York she is happy to call the DC theatre community her home. There she has been fortunate to work with several companies including The Folger, Constellation, Rorschach, Taffety Punk, Longacre Lea, and Keegan. In addition she has been an educator both in the US and abroad teaching Shakespeare and Musical Theatre workshops to students at Cambridge University in England, and as a founding instructor of The Berridge Conservatory in France. Her direction and choreography credits include 6 summers with Festival 56 in Illinois where she choreographed Cabaret, The Full Monty, Gypsy, The Addams Family, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, and Mary Poppins.She also directed their productions of As You Like It,  The Drowsy Chaperone, Sweet Charity, A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Othello. For Providence College in Rhode Island she choreographed The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Bat Boy, and the upcoming Something Rotten for their fall production. She has a BFA in Musical Theatre from Webster Conservatory and an MFA from George Washington University and Shakespeare Theatre Company’s Academy for Classical Acting.
